In the summer Lake George is a very popular tourist town. Many flock here to swim on the lake, take boat rides, hike in the Adirondacks, see the Thursday night fireworks and enjoy themselves. In the winter Lake George is given back to the locals, the town is beautiful and snow brings another event for those who live or visit here-skiing. Winter is time for skiing, snowboarding, Ice skating, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. Though some could disagree, winter is just as active and exciting as summers here. You will never run out of places to take pictures and things to do. Lake George is New Yorks version of Lake Placid. Dont be afraid to visit.

I took a trip two summers ago with some close friends to Lake George, and this place had so much to offer to tourists like us. Firstly, there are restaurants and places to eat, one after another so there is a variety in the types of food you can try out. Additionally, this place offers a multitude of activities which includes river rafting, hiking, sight-seeing, swimming, fishing etc. The general atmosphere of this town is so welcoming, it makes you want to stay here forever as there are endless possibilities. At night, you can travel down the town to see local shops that are distinctly unique from one another. I remember going to one shop, and I ended up buying a real sword and a crescent moon necklace. The merchandise is like nothing you never seen, and it instantly hooks you when you do see it. Overall, I definitely recommend this place as a vacation spot as it provides quality time with the people you care about, and is also very affordable.
Lake George is a great tourist town in upstate New York. There are a lot of activities during the summer, including boating, fishing, canoeing and other activities on the lake. Not to mention there is a six flags theme park close by, many miniature golf course and activities for all members of the family. Being a current resident I definitely feel that it is a great town; very family oriented.
