If you plan on moving here and never travel to any of the events in Austin or need to shop or anything else. This might work for you. The lack of infrastructure makes living here, a headache! Only 1 main road in/out. Whoever is running the town does not appear to care about what’s actually needed for families. There’s only 1 pharmacy here. But they keep building gas stations. Whatever services are available here, well they overcharge because they’re the only one in town. Schools are okay - just okay. People seem unpleasant- speeding like crazy. It’s a small town with no sidewalks, slow down! There could be potential here but it may take years to actually develop for one truly enjoy a full life here. Housing is constantly being built but the infrastructure remains the same. Other than that, it’s pretty quiet here and yeah if live the area with POA you can visit the parks located near the river. But if you don’t, there’s 1 small public park and pool.
LIBS NEEDED! Please come quick! I’m only kidding.. a little. It’s a small town, so conservative leaning is to be expected. However, it is growing with the new neighborhoods like The Hollows and Tessera. Lots of people moving in from all over. We recently moved here at the beginning of the year from NC. I was used to having everything at my access within 5 minutes. Not so much here. Cedar Park is closest town and it takes 15 mins to get there. It took some adjusting but the slow pace and beauty of the hills has really diffused my anxiety and allowed us to focus on time with our family instead. I go in to Austin at least once a week to get my fix of city life. The drive isn’t bad at all. The time goes quickly. You get used to it. It’s so nice driving back home from Austin. The minute I hit the hill driving up to Lago a huge peace washes over. Whole Foods 20 mins. Needs stores/better shopping. Love the elementary school. Kids are thriving. Totally different from NC but I like it.
Lago Vista offers a tranquil and scenic setting with a close-knit community spirit. It is a place where residents can enjoy the natural beauty of the Hill Country, engage in outdoor activities, and experience a slower pace of life while still having access to the amenities of a larger city nearby.
