Since living in Laconia as of 7 months ago, I have been asked if I could obtain methampethamine by my neighbor without having ever spoken a prior word to them, I've lost my partner due to her not believing me that that exact person used meth having stated it the first day we moved in... She thought I was paranoid and delusional because I made such a wild accusation, then 3 months later he had asked me... Landlords around the area are give or take... either great or worthless... the food and customer service is horrid in most dining experiences...
The police are terrible to deal with, and don't read their miranda rights to people they arrest as a witness to an event where this occurred and the person was then tazed and thrown into a cell while experiencing a psychotic episode after being abandoned in their house to die for 3 days on a new antidepressant. Long story short this town is miserable to live in. 0/10

An overall positive experience, with some drawbacks. The best things are the location, it is very beautiful in the summer and fall. The lakes are a big tourist attraction in the summers. However, winters are a drawback. If you're not a fan of the cold, a lot of snow, and long winters, then Laconia, and other cities in New Hampshire would not be enjoyable for you.
Laconia is like any other small town you have a good neighborhoods and your not so appealing ones. They have some very good home cooked cafes.. affordable real estate...a couple beautiful beaches ( bond beach especially)...the schools are mediocre (need to be updated) but they need a reasonable chain grocery store (Market Basket) we ould be perfect! All in all it's your town.... it's what you make of it
