My experience in public schools has been very good. The teachers are well educated, welcoming, and have high standards, The district offers a lot of clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities. The area itself is beautiful and offers many outdoor activities and nature hikes. Lacey is within a few hours from the ocean and also a few mountains. Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens are beautiful no matter what the season and offer hiking, camping, snow shoeing, and skiing. They also have lodges to stay at as well. Lacey Parks and recreation offers many programs for children including a few swimming pools that are open in the summer and offer swim lessons. There are many sports camps offered as well. As far as safety, there are a lot of homeless in the downtown area which makes some people feel unsafe, a lot of stores report theft so they have to hire security, and there is a lot of garbage along the major freeway which makes the area look unclean. Lacey is a great place to live.
I think Lacey is a charming town, and although there have been many changes over the years, I still believe this is a beautiful place to live. Lacey is full of parks and trails, many of which I personally use to play and coach soccer year-round. I may have lived here my whole life, but I truly think this town is so amazing and gorgeous, it is truly a great town. In Lacey, we experience all four seasons, and each brings a different kind of beauty and benefits, but personally, I think we have the best Springs and Falls around here.
Lacey, Washington is a small town that's growing in the Pacific North West. I moved here from Tennessee so you could imagine the culture shock I experienced. I work in Tacoma, its about 27 minutes away and has so many more things to do rather than Lacey. However, Lacey is known to be safer then its other nearby cities. Plus its near Olympia, the capital of Washington. Needless to say, I would move back to the South in a heartbeat.
