La Vista Reviews
Rating 4.29 out of 5 35 reviews
La Vista is a beautiful place. Despite being something like 80-85 percent white (and probably higher than that), we do claim the title of most diverse city in Sarpy County. Their is currently a huge redevelopment going on with the final phase not expected to be complete for another, like, 10 or 20 years. There is a lot happening in this pleasant little Nebraska community. If you'd like a fantastic place to raise your kids, this would be it.
It is part of the Omaha Metro. Since it is located just a few miles south of what is Omaha, it provides quick access to Omaha and Ralston to the north, Bellevue to the east, Papillion to the south, and Gretna to the southwest. La Vista feels slightly slower paced when compared to the center of Omaha. The oldest part of La Vista is not that old, so the houses are nice and the many trees provide plenty of shade in the summer heat. From where I live, downtown Omaha is less than a 25 minute drive, and the Henry Doorly Zoo is no more than a 20 minute drive. There are plenty of relaxing lakes and recreational areas to the south and west of La Vista, the closest of which is less than 15 minutes away. It is a great area to live in.
La Vista is a community constantly challenging itself to be better. Despite being the youngest city in Nebraska, growth had been rapid and continues to be so. This is a community that has faced hard times, has come from a rough place, yet pushes to achieve greater things. A great place full of great people.
