La Habra has a lot to offer for families and kids who just want to feel at home. I have lived in La Habra for the majority of my life so I grew up eating at the delicious bakeries and going to the small community church where I see familiar faces and friends. It's amusing to converse with people at your local store and make small talk. La Habra may be a small city but the people here are connected and amiable. Events I always look forward to are our Community Festivals on the streets of the city. There are parades, scrumptious food, dancing, Fair Rides, and more! It was something my family and I always looked forward to every year and really influenced me as a child. It was a time where I could hang out with my friends and make happy, long lasting memories. La Habra is a city that is truly important to me. It offers many opportunities to connect with community and family.
As a woman who partly grew up in La Habra, La Habra helped instill one of the happiest childhoods for its safety and quality of education programs. Neighborhoods felt surrealistically safe compared to my earlier years in Montebello and East Los Angeles--encouraging me to take walks by myself without fear; let alone walk out my door, past the street on which I already lived! Suburbs feel heavenly tranquil, and the air surrounding the trees smelled of better quality (compared to Los Angeles); truly, there exists a distinctly, pleasantly cleaner smell in La Habra. One factor to consider aside from the loveliness of this neighboorhood lies in the shortage of cultural programs. Young students attending local schools most likely will see some of this enrichment, as Washington Middle School annually establishes a cultural night for their parents and families; outside of the school system, some residents may experience slight disconnection from the shortage of cultural programs.
I like how quiet and peaceful the neighborhood is. It's safe and there are some public schools nearby. It's not a family friendly environment and the nightlife is poor, there isn't much to do here to be honest. But if you are planning to find a quiet place to just sleep and you are going to spend most of you time outside your house, I would recommend this neighborhood. In addition, I can see they are trying to make a change in this neighborhood by adding some stores and places to eat and drink. I'm really looking forward to it!
