I have lived in the area of Kirby almost since I moved to Texas. I would not say this is the safest place for your kids to play a night, but there is many family friendly things you can do around this area. There is many community pools, senior centers, parks, etc. My favorite thing about the area is how everybody knows everybody, kind of like a close-knit family. The cost of living is fairly affordable here too!

We have only lived here a little over 2 years. It is a great location for us, close to family, shopping, downtown, zoo, museums, libraries, parks, etc. Very good service by our Police, Fire Department, Emergency Services, and other city services.
In the nine years of living in Kirby, TX I have learned to love living in this neighborhood. Like all things, it has its cons and pros. One of the things I absolute love about living in Kirby it's that its a very family friendly neighborhood and safety, you can always find yourself enjoying a walk around the neighborhood feeling safe. I have also love the engagement of the community in events such as their annual Hobbo Fest, their 4th of July Fest, and their annual Christmas parade, their always fun and enjoyable for all the family. If I could see one thing changed it would be it metropolitan transportation. The via buses are just such a far distance from most Kirby residents.
