The local family owned restraunts are nice and clean. Some of the small business are pricey, but of good quality. We have a few lunch and breakfast spots that are family owned and they do a wonderful business. The larger chain restaurants do a pretty good business as well, but it seems in our local town, the family owned business are of better quality and attract a larger crowd. I never thought about it before, but cudos to Kingston!

From my experience, I can say that you will have a much better time living in Kingston than Wilkes-Barre, simply in terms of your likelihood of getting murdered.
I was born and raised in Kingston so I am slightly biased to the town. The people were generally nice and the weather was as nice as it gets in the north east. However trying to get a house in the area and the cost of living are a bit too high for a town like that. Property taxes especially are the worst when it comes to that. As a young man growing up as well I found myself with very little to do so it is not exactly the type of place you go to party or do anything after dark. I would however be willing to raise a family there as it is very safe and family friendly. In conclusion I would just like to see more things for teenagers and young adults come to the area and I would love to see the cost of living go down.
