There are beautiful hiking trails and really nice people! Everywhere you go you are surrounded by nature. There are great restaurants like Pico's Pizza nearby in downtown Larkspur and excellent coffee shops like Rustic Bakery. It is also very convenient being closely linked to San Francisco but still located outside of the city in Marin County with easy transportation like public buses and the Larkspur Landing Ferry that link you with city life.

It is a cute small town. It is not small town like a farm town but still a special town. It is beyond safe. Growing up we would leave the garage door open or the front door open and the cars unlocked. We were never afraid of other people. Although it is extremely expensive, it was worth growing up there. Most of the stores are locally owned and operated.
For me his area was a very nice place to grow up. It was incredibly safe, I could go out walking in the street at midnight alone if I wanted to and I would be completely fine. Both the public schools and private schools are quite good as well. Its not the most diverse community, and the housing is very expensive which is a little unfortunate. Its not somewhere I want to live in my 20's, but as a child or parent its a great community.
