Kenmore is a very small suburb outside of Buffalo, New York. It is a very safe and friendly community. It is home to many locally-owned shops, but also national chains. It has many local community events throughout the year, including the Kenmore Days festival which includes amusement rides, food, games, and fireworks during the summer, Santa in the Village which includes visits with Santa and his elves and food at the village square, and outdoor concerts in late August. Despite its small size, there is always something going on in Kenmore! Kenmore is also home to many parks, local pools, and both public and private elementary and high schools that are in good standing. For the little kids, there are numerous daycare sites, as well.
Growing up in Kenmore, I always had a tight knit community surrounding me for support. Although it is not a small town, it feels like everyone knows each other. I grew up on a street where there was always someone to play with and I never felt unsafe outside at night. While there is a little bit of nepotism as far as school board elections, hiring in schools, and village politics, this is usually true of any little town and it hasn't really impacted my experience here negatively. The best part, though, is that it has a small town feel but is only a ten minute drive from the heart of the city of Buffalo. I couldn't have asked for a much better place to grow up.
This is where I grew up and continue to live. It’s a quiet community. For me at least, all of my family grew up here as well so it’s a place where people know or knew someone in my family.
