It is very isolated, but has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Aside from the military base and a few establishments that the locals frequent, there is not much to do. Overall, this is a great place to visit, but not so much to live.
Kekaha is very family oriented. In Hawai'i it is rare to find neighborhoods that are safe enough for kids to run the sidewalks or adventure and explore.
I have lived in this wonderful little town on the island of Kauai all my life. Our community truly feels like a family. The locals that live here have been here for years, growing their families and passing down the traditions from one generation to the next.
everyone is really close and its very comforting. but there are a few homeless people who like to cause a commotion over nothing
Overall, Kekaha is a great place to raise a family. As with each location, there will be issues you have to deal with. Great family atmosphere, quiet in some places, loud in others. Close to the base, beach, and mountains. Hot most of the year. Overall great people, though late night break ins have become commonplace in some neighborhoods, drugs are bad kids! Stay off the pipes!
