I would think long and hard before moving here. Our taxes are the highest in Johnson County. Out water bills are the 5th highest in the state of Texas. The town has an Adventist town. They don't want change, no grocery stores, no restaurant where you can get a glass of wine. The is no alcohol sales here. Most if the town shuts down on Saturday. Our city is in debt in the amount of around 10 million. I can't wait for the day where we can move on. It's definitely been an experience though.

The public school is incredible and the town is very safe and family friendly. However, there is not a lot to do and Keene is hyper-conservative and religious. Keene is either a great fit for you or you're just trying to get out. If you like small towns, you can get along well here. You just might have to drive out to Cleburne or other nearby cities to find something to do.
I absolutely love the culture and diversity that is present in Keene, Texas. Everybody here has came from other countries, states, or cities, it is the city of acceptance. The town of keene not only has a spacious park but also has a University and a pond along with tennis courts and plenty of places for activities. The school district in this city prepares you well for college and everybody cares, shares, and watches out for each other. It an extremely safe city and everybody is welcoming and friendly.
