Kealakekua is a truly beautiful place and the people in it treat each other with Aloha! I have lived near this area for the great majority of my life and I have never had an outstanding bad experience in this community. Most people are willing to help one another, no questions asked. It is unlike a large city in so many ways. People tend to be more patient on the road and aware of what those around them are doing. It's like a big happy family who is sharing and caring towards one another if some on need a shoulder to lean on. That is what it's like to treat someone with Aloha and that is what makes Kealakekua such a great place.
Kealakekua is one of the best places in the world to live! The weather is typically perfect. There's lots of nearby awesome beaches to enjoy world class snorkeling, swimming, diving, SUP, outrigger paddling and fishing. It's not so far from Kailua-Kona, but far enough that you feel like you're in the country. There's all the amenities, restaurants, shopping and gas you need, so you don't have to drive into Kailua-Kona and can avoid traffic staying out of "town". The new bypass road makes the businesses and attractions of Keauhou less than 10 minutes away. Kealakekua is in the agricultural belt at the beginning of South Kona, so it is lush green and colorful with blooming flowers and trees all year long.
Kealakekua is a beautiful city that sits on the side of the beautiful hualalai slope. I love that this city is a bit of country a bit of city. A mix of old school and modern which creates an inteewsting appeal. When it rains its calm and revitalizing, when the sun is out its energizing. I wouldn't want to change anything about Kealakekua.
