Kalama is a small town so you get to know almost everybody there. There are great local shops and restaraunts and big cities like Longview, Vancouver or Portland are either less than a half hour or less than an hour drive away so it's convenient to live next to a big city but grey the small city living that you love. There is only one high school there which is well operated and all of the teachers are really nice and you can also do running start at a couple of nearby colleges if you are interested. Overall, Kalama is a nice small town and a great place to live.

This town, is so amazing. You can just feel the love from everyone in the community. The community is pretty tight and is very involved with the local high school sports. The town is great.
Kalama is a small town about 10 miles North of Woodland and about 7 miles South of Longview. The town has 1 gas station in town, a few restaurant's, a Subway and of coarse a liquor store. Most of the community is elderly people. The police, which consists of 3 maybe 4 the most know everything that everyone does and gossip is what people do for fun. Well besides meeting up at the Chevron gas station to get the daily news papers and a cup of coffee, followed by the daily lunch specials and then the after work beer. Not so much for myself and my 18 year old daughter. Would move to Vancouver, where its closer to school and work for myself and my daughter.
