Juneau is a great place for people who love the outdoors, beautiful scenery, and a community. The community is big enough to support a decent gathering and small enough to still have that small town vibe. You'll always see someone you know, no matter where you go. There are many wonderful trails and mountains to hike, a beautiful tram to experience the views from a mountain top, a ski mountain for the winter (also doubles as a beautiful hiking destination in the summer), there is ample areas for fishing, biking, and hunting throughout our oceans, streams, beaches, trails, and forests. After a day or work or play there's movies, pubs, or breweries to enjoy and there's ALWAYS good food. Juneau has something for everyone.

Juneau is a town for lovers of the outdoors. From ocean, islands, incredible wildlife, mountains, and endless places to explore. There is a large influx of young seasonal workers in the summer to support the massive summer cruise ship tourism industry. It is quiet in the winter but if you love winter sports its unbeatable to ski down mountains while looking at the ocean. The town is disconnected from the road system and so can be isolating at times but there is a nightlife downtown although don't expect much variety.
I love Juneau, the capital of Alaska, and everything about it. It's a small town and everyone knows everyone. You're surrounded by beautiful mountains, trees, and water anywhere you go. If I could change one thing about Juneau, Alaska it would having a road the connects to another location. Unfortunately, the only way to leave Juneau is by ferry or a plane. Although Juneau has the best views and scenic drives I have ever seen, it would be nice to explore and experience more by having a road leading to more of Alaska!
