This is your typical small town in rural Pennsylvania. Sure jobs can be hard to find but the people all know each other. Nightlife is very limited but the scenery is beautiful and the town is chaulk full with history. There are three main parks in Johnstoen. The first one is a very small park downtown, Roxbury park in the Roxbury part of town, and also Sandyville Park located in the Hornerstown part of town. Johnstown also has the John Mayer Nature Trail which is along the Stonycreek River and the town is near Galitizen and Laurel Run State Parks.

Johnstown has a lot of history and pride. It can be difficult for "new comers" to make friends and learn their way around the town and the culture but once you find your community, you will feel at home!
Johnstown is a small town with a few nice features such as its War Memorial and infamous Inclined Plane. The Greater Johnstown School District tries to get its students as involved in the community as possible through Key club, Interact club, Builders club, etc. Johnstown doesn't have a lot of stores and restaurants in the area because most are in the nearby Galleria, which requires travelling a highway (about a 20 minute drive). The town's crime-rate isn't extreme, but I wouldn't let my kids wander the streets at night.
