I'm not sure that "it's the best" would mean there isn't much crime, but there isn't. Most of the incidents that happen are from tourists that are just passing through and have nothing to do with the actual citizens of the town. The police are always very quick to come when they are called, which can be often for irrelevant things such as kids being too loud or actions of that nature. Usually the police are just as annoyed with the old people that call them as the kids are for getting inn trouble. All in all one can feel very safe walking the streets at night.

Living in the town can feel suffocating at times, especially for a teenager wanting to get out and experience all that the world has to offer. However, being a college student, I often long for the lazy way of life and the beauty that the Texas hill country offers. I could honestly see myself living there again one day, or in one of the towns that surround it. There is a lot of tourism throughout that area, so I believe that the business there will stay successful along with the town's residents.
Johnson City is your typical small town. There isn’t much to go do and not many choices of restaurants. Going out with friends usually means your going into the surrounding cities or towns. I do wish we had more places to eat and shop. Maybe even places to go hang out.
