The people here are some of the rudest I have encountered. They wake up every morning ready to have confrontations. They are rude to service workers, rude on the roads, rude to anyone who may have an out of state plate or out of county tag.
The small town feel is definitely manufactured and those that don't want growth and outsiders here should talk to their elected officials about all of the distribution centers going up instead of taking their anger out on ordinary folks.
The schools here aren't as great as they look on paper and they aren't worth a move here from somewhere with better infrastructure and more to do.

Jefferson is a developing city with restaurants, stores, and many suburbs neighborhoods. I lived/grew up in this town for 20 years. However, many families have moved here in hopes of getting their kids into the “good schools” (the school is not good, they just pick and choose good applicants). The same families are trying to MANUFACTURE the “small town” feel while at the same time over crowding/over developing it. Picture this; helicopter moms, stuck up kids, and dads who work to getaway from their family.
TLDR; the school is not good, it’s no longer a small town, the Karens and their brats have taken over.

Jefferson city is where I reside in and have grown up at. It is just a simple small town that has quickly expanded in 4-5 years due to the excellent school system.
Everyone is so friendly and feel just like family. There are so many small businesses (which are my absolute favorite) My family and I love supporting others in the community.
Another one of my favorite things about Jefferson would have to be the events they have down town. There is always something going on whether it is a holiday or not.
