Nice quaint small city. Good place to raise children or retire. I have lived here off and on for about 10 years, so I am very familiar with this city and it is home. The people are friendly there are good places to eat and surrounding cities provide great attractions for out of towners and locals. The school system is great! I graduated from Jefferson City High School. The teachers there encouraged me to pursue a college degree. Thank you Jefferson City!

Jefferson City provides comfortable, country town living and has an array of uptown personal shopping boutiques. There are a lot of enjoyable place to eat and is a great place to live and visit if you enjoy the outdoors. The people are pretty friendly and easygoing and of course this is the State Capital of Missouri where laws are constantly discussed. While the Capitol building is currently undergoing renovations, Jefferson City also has a historic district that is currently being refurbished and is home to Lincoln University with the University of Missouri College in Columbia, Mo. is only about 27 miles to the North on Hwy 63. The Lake of the Ozarks is a wonderful place to visit and to go boating on. With its communities expanding, you'll find that Jefferson City, Missouri is an excellent place for raising children while providing an exceptional educational learning environment. Come live, laugh, and love the comforts of country living.
I have lived in Jefferson City my whole life. I love that Jefferson City as the capital of Missouri has a nice, small town feel. I absolutely love the downtown area, with its 100 year-old buildings and small businesses. Two places in Jefferson City that you must visit are the Capitol building and Central Dairy. The Capitol is beautiful, made with limestone mined right here in Missouri and having a wonderful museum about Missourian history. Central Dairy is the best ice cream parlor in the state. You can get a whole pint of delicious ice cream for only three dollars! Jefferson City is also known for being the most beautiful small town in America. Many of those you grew up in Jefferson City come back to start a family because it feels so familiar. Even those who have lived in faraway states their whole lives say that Jefferson City has a beautiful sense of home and they feel very welcome when they visit.
