I'm tempted to rate Jtown with 1 star, to keep it a secret, but, I'll be honest and give it the 5 stars it deserves. Why? Awesome scenery, clean air, quiet, low density, great schools, a mild climate, recreation, cultural, history, committed residents, accessibility to urban areas (New York, Boston, and Providence - the latter two an easy day or evening trip) amenities and shopping in Newport, Narragansett, Wickford, Middletown, North and South Kingstown, and much more. Housing prices are a bit high, but taxes are loooow! We first experienced Jamestown as newlyweds on our teeny cruising sailboat 40 years ago and kept coming as our boat and family grew. When kids and grandkids overwhelmed available berths, we started renting in the summer, and kept our boat here on the winter. Off-season visits for boat maintenance gave us a chance to see the community was even more desirable between Labor Day and Memorial Day than "in season." Check it out yourself; you'll see what I mean!
I went on a ferry to James town walked the streets and stuff it’s was all beautiful. I went to almost all the stores and all great quality stuff!
This island is absolutely amazing! I have lived here my entire life and the community is one giant family. The island is so beautiful in all seasons and there is nothing I would change about it. Jamestown is a great place to live and grow up!
