Jamestown is an excellent small city in western New York. Chautauqua Lake provides ample opportunities for recreation on and around the waters. Jamestown's cultural heritage through Lucille Ball, Rodger Tory Peterson, and Robert H. Jackson enrich the community with theaters, museums, and nature reserves. With the recent Riverwalk projects, visitors and residents have more access than ever to experience the beauty of local nature. The opening of the National Comedy Center is just the most recent venture to modernize and invite the world into the wonderful community in Jamestown and Chautauqua County. Jamestown is well worth visit.

Jamestown, NY used to be a thriving manufacturing community. The city and surrounding area has great potential for new growth and a bright future. The public schools give many opportunities for families and children to grow and become responsible citizens. The area churches have been working together with other area organizations to bring healthy living choices to the area. The Jamestown Audubon, the YMCA and the YWCA as well as the Chautauqua Striders are just a few of the many stakeholders for this community's future. The cost of living is low and the community support is high. The natural beauty of the area is another attraction. At the southern end of a fresh water lake,(Lake Chautauqua) surrounded by woodland and farms, there are boating, fishing, rowing and hiking outdoor experiences waiting for individuals of all ages.
There are a lot of new features to this town. They have new playgrounds, walking trails, and a brand new National Comedy Center. They have a wonderful farmers market, public gardens, and a soup kitchen. The Hospital is currently under renovation. There are a lot of new businesses coming into the downtown area.
