It's an extremely small town, so everyone knows everyone else's business which makes it very tough to have privacy. Growing up here and going to high school here, it does make it difficult to grow as a person. In addition, there is really nothing to do. There is one bar in the center of town and that's about the only thing in Jaffrey itself. On the other hand, it is a very supportive and involved community. Many community members participate in supporting the local high school events and organizations. If you're nearby in the summertime, I would recommend checking out Kimballs.

Jaffrey is a nice town to me. Some people refer to it as a slumy town, however the people there are very nice. There is a McDonalds, Multiple Dunkin's, a Walmart and Martket Basket in the next town over. It's all around a very convenient place to live.
We moved here after over twenty years in Central Maine, thinking it was going to be warmer, less snow, etc. Wrong! The winters are worse, if possible, than Maine. On the other hand, the cost of living is great (no state income tax) and the quality of life in general is good. We like our neighbors and co-workers and our daughter's education at the Dublin School has been outstanding. Overall, a darn good place to live.
