I'm a Jacksonville native, so seeing the ever-evolving changes since I was child has been impressive. The city is known to be the largest in the U.S ( landmass wise) and continues to develop commercial and residential areas for our growing community. Jacksonville has a local beaches, parks and delicious restaurants that can suite anyone pallet. Not to mention, the cost of living and stable job market continues to draw people from near and far as an attractive cite. The only downfall with the city is the commute. Being the largest city means prolonged car rides, especially with rush hour traffic. Aside from the minor con, it's a great place to visit and live!

I've lived in Jax for about 2.5 years now and absolutely love it. I love having an ocean and a giant river. I love the southern charm of Georgia mixed with the cool laid back multicultural feel of Florida. Being close to the border, you get a good mix of the two cultures combined. There are of course some rough parts of Jax, just like any city, and I'd love to see the crime rates go down there. But overall, Jax is a growing and happening place, especially to be a college student!
Jacksonville is an environment unlike any other that offers a variety of historical markers, professional sports' teams, and unique culture. With a beautiful geographical sight along the St. John's River, the city of Jacksonville also borders the Atlantic Ocean, with Mayport being one of the largest shipping ports in the Southeastern US. Jacksonville is also a military city, making it very populous with personnel and the 3rd largest military presence in the United States alone. The local economy is run mainly off of banking, insurance, healthcare, tourism as it relates to golf, and logistics. Jacksonville is also home to a number of nationally ranked arts schools and college preparatory institutions. It is also home to Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida.
