I was born and raised here in Jacksonville and I think that overall it is a very good place to live. There are many attractions to do, such as the yearly Greater Agricultural Fair, the Florida-Georgia Game, and so many others. Generally, it is a close-knit group. We are passionate about our team the Jaguars, even though right now they are not a winning team. We know that change is coming on that front.

We have nice weather around here most of the time compared to the north. Our winters are considered mild at best.

On the not so good side, there seems to be a growing amount of crime in various areas of the city. But we have a great base of city officials that are doing all they can to make Jacksonville a safer place to live.

All in all, I feel that the good far outweighs the bad, and that Jacksonville is an excellent place to live!

Honestly? This is not a place for everybody. We were so disappointed and one year had been past and NO, is not for us. Do not think because is the biggest city in Florida means you will find better and a lots of parks, parking places or acces to the beaches, places to go, Free programs like concerts - symphonic band- Nope, nada.
Some Country music events, oh yes! With everything that involved .
The Rent is lower so the neighbors - Even if you live Southeast, like us.-
Some people are nice, friendly but the rest? Nope.
I hope the best, specially if your are looking to raise kids here, because elementary are really good but Middle ? Nooooo.
In that case look in St. John.
Moved to the Jacksonville area recently and have been thoroughly impressed with the locals overall friendly dispositions. Everyone I've encountered has been more than helpful. I've made the best of friends and have been blessed enough to have the chance to be welcomed with open arms by extended family members. The water is beautiful, and the towns border the perfect line between being big enough to have new places to explore every weekend, but also retains a small-town feel when you can start to recognize friendly faces in a crowd. Currently 22 years old and attending college while living at home, so hopefully this review is helpful!
