Jackson Township resident for over 36 years. My family has lived in this town since the 1940’s.....nice town, lot has changed with time. Schools are average. Commuting is convenient with access to 195 to parkway/ turnpike. Real estate is high. Many job opportunities within the town including six flags great adventure. Health care/professional buildings are close by as well as food/restaurants.
Jackson is a rather large town with nice, quiet neighborhoods. Lots of trees,
great parks and forests are scattered throughout the town which make it a nice place to visit if you enjoy taking walks through nature. Public schools are, in my experience, great and attentive to the concerns of members of the community. Property values are a downside to this town, since property tax is steadily increasing and it's very difficult to find a nice, affordable house to live in. Even renting is expensive.
Jackson is a nice place to live. Crime is relatively low. I love that Great Adventures Six Flags in our town. Allowed me to work in the summer to help out at home. They also have pretty decent restaurants.

Jackson is great because we are close to everything. 20 mins to the beach, 40 mins to NYC, 40 mins to Philly.
f you take advantage of all the opportunities Jackson has to offer it is a wondrous place to grow up. With its immense size, there are so many people to meet and so many activities to take part in, from sports to clubs, to volunteer activities. The environment is lovely, being a suburb with a lot of wooded areas, so there is plenty of outdoor recreation to enjoy. Jackson has close proximity to nearby shopping in Howell and Freehold, is only an hour or so from New York and Philadelphia, and has easy entrances to the I95 and the Turnpike. It is truly the center of everything. It is a safe, happy, and healthy environment and that anyone could enjoy.
Living in Jackson is quite calm. There are great public schools and the nightlife is very safe. It's a very safe town and there are alot of places to hang out, eat or shop.
Like the open spaces. Would like to see less upper level administration in schools so there is more money for resources available.
Jackson has been my home town since I was two and it has drastically changed. There is alot to do in and around the town and we have an amusement park in our town as well.
It was once full of open land - but the over developing is getting out of control. It is still a decent town - but is quickly changing in over developing and other areas.

Jackson Township is an absolutely wonderful town to live in. Not only is it extremely beautiful and filled with many national parks, it has a great school system, lots of fun entertainment and always a place to explore. The Jackson Outlets or Six Flags Great Adventure are two examples of fun things to do here in Jackson.
Jackson Township is a very good town located in Ocean County, NJ. It ranges from farmland to regular suburbs. Plenty of space to live near neighbors but far enough from them for privacy.
Its in the middle of everything 1 hour from ac 2 hours from nyc and 2 hours from philly. Its filled with a lot night life and also a theme park six flags great adventure
I moved to Jackson Twp in 2004. The town at that time was not as diverse as it is becoming. I was in a Christian School and transferred in 2007 to Jackson Public Schools. It was a bit of a shock, however the teachers and Board of Ed were very accommodating and helpful with my transition. I found a local church to attend which was diverse and several official members of the community attended which was nice. Since moving, the town has become more diverse which I think is necessary for the town to thrive.
Jackson NJ is a great place to raise a family. The school system is great. The town has come along way.
My experience in Jackson Township has been a pleasant one. I have lived in Jackson for 16 years and hope to continue living here for the next 4 years. From the school systems to the community to the friendly faces you meet; Jackson is the place to be. As a minor, my opinions would be different from others that are older than me.
I like the public school system here, but the town lacks anything exciting to do. It also takes forever to get anywhere and practically nothing is within walking distance

Largely residential, Jackson has seen a dramatic increase in population and the town has begun to step up development as a result. Known for Six Flags Great Adventure, the park provides some job opportunity within town but not much elsewhere. Jackson gets high marks for outdoor recreation (camping, parks, etc.) due to its vast woods and rural environment. Jackson’s proximity to the Pine Barrens provides countless outdoor activities. Sky is at times scenic come sundown. Pizza is amazing and widely available as well as bagels although neighboring Freehold and Howell are home to more chain restaurants. School district is average compared to neighboring towns. Diversity in town is strong as there are strong Italian, Irish, Polish, Hispanic, Asian, African American and Jewish roots in town.
Very nice, quiet, suburb in Central Jersey that has a “rural” feel to it so to speak, at least more so than neighboring towns. Schools are what you would want them to be, very diverse community. Great pizza (namely, Brooklyn Square) ,fun outdoor activities as there are plenty of woods, Six Flags and the Safari provide entertainment though those seeking nightlife will have to travel out of town. Overall an expansive, safe town to raise a family although Lakewood residents have began to dominate real estate.
I enjoy living in Jackson Township because it is quiet, but also beautiful. There is not a lot to do if you are into "going out" to bars or clubs, but there are plenty of parks to go to for hikes, bike rides or just for nature loving folks. Jackson is also great to live in because we have Six Flags Great Adventure and the Jackson Outlets to go shopping right near each other. There are plenty of places to eat near Jackson if you go into Freehold, Manalapan, Marlboro or Howell as well.
