It's a small, busy town with seemingly more police than residents. As a result, there seems to be minimal criminal activity. The cost of living isn't as expensive as nearby cities, yet the quality of living is not severely compromised by this. There are plenty of decent, cozy, little homes and apartments. I've even seen a small mansion. The atmosphere feels friendly, hard working, and Southern. There's not a lot of diversity, but there's also not a lot of blatant discrimination. Employment options may be limited and mostly consist of manufacturing, education, retail, and banking jobs.

Jackson, Missouri is a great town to grow up in! We are small enough to run into people you know and feel comfortable on any street and large enough to have a Wal-Mart! Our school district great and I love the teachers and people in it. We have a few good restaurants to choose from and multiple parks for kids to play or to hang out at.
Jackson is a great community, usually quiet. Much better than Cape Girardeau, right next door. The public schools are great (GO Indians!) and some very awesome local businesses!
