A diverse town with many different little pockets. Coming from the city and moving to Islip Terrace was a smooth transition! The community is generally welcoming and inviting. The area is safe and definitely somewhere I would raise my children. Many places to eat, many places for entertainment, parks, and more. The town is quiet but also busy enough that it isn’t boring.

Islip Terrace has a lot of medical doctors and good hospitals. There are a lot of small business stores that you shop in and we have a mall too. The library has many things to do for free for different age group. The best is the water (ocean, beaches) that is around us, its beautiful in the summer. must come and visit.
I've been living in Islip Terrace since I was 12, so I attended East Islip Middle School and the high school. It's a nice town on the south shore of long island. You have everything near you from local shops, to franchise stores, to having the marina close to home. Overall it's a very safe town to live in and has a great school system. Islip Terrace is a nice family neighborhood. One thing at times that is worrying is there has been increased gang violence in some of the surrounding towns. Thank goodness for us this town continues to be a safe place to live as we are separated from towns by highways and commercial streets, it's like a barrier to us.
