Since 2000 The City of Imperial has exploded in population from 7,000 to 18,206 in 2018. The 2008 recession kind of screwed the city over becuase it halted ths housing boom and before there were large nieghborhoods planned. 10 years later the city has a new trampoline park Ricochet. Downtown is beautiful. The farmers markets in winter are very fun and the food is amazing. The middle winter fair is really fun and great for the family. The schools are good. The crime is extremely low. #1 safest city in CA. Hundreds of new homes are being built in Imperial and they are filling really fast. Lots of law enforcement reside in Imperial. More locally owned shoos are opening here as well as well lit and maintained parks and a dog park. The city recenlty resurfaced streets so its a smooth ride. Apartments are also going up all around the city. Its a great city and its great to see it grow and become vibrant after the 2008 recession screwed the city...

It's a nice little town where everyone knows everyone and most people are always willing to help out a neighbor. Imperial has an amazing high school and great elementary schools. There are rarely any crimes and it's a great place to raise a family. New houses are always being built and there are some very nice parks for kids. Houses are affordable and there are plenty of apartment complexes for lower income families. I would say there is a good amount of diversity and this is a place where people of different race, religion, and sexuality can live in comfort. You can find necessities easily as stores and schools are relatively close together. There are good job opportunities here and new businesses open up every year.
I just moved to Imperial County and it is a quiet little town. There are the average job opportunities here, and it is affordable. There is a lot of competition for job opportunities. Not much to do other than shopping and going to Mexicali.
