I am a Mother of two children that I raised in Ida. My children go to Summerfield schools. The school is small personable and fun for family life. Ida itself is a small town, but every December they have the Ida lights parade and people from all over Michigan, Ohio and Indiana attend it's a great family time.

This small town is in the middle of nowhere, there nothing but farms with chickens and cows everywhere which means you can't go outside and get some fresh air cause it smells like cow poop everywhere. In what's consider the "downtown" area, there is 2 bars, 3 hardware stores, 1 gas station, a library and a school. There's a bunch of country people who do nothing but work on their trucks all day and smoke weed. I'm originally from Toledo Ohio, but moved up here after my parents bought land and built a house. The only good thing about living here is the crime rate, it's a lot better than being in a city like Toledo or Monroe. The people here are very closed and small minded and don't like change or new things. It's scary driving here, deer jump out at you and ruin your car, and then they run off and don't care that they don't have insurance, deer hit and runs. All types of beautiful roadkill to look at. But 1 nice thing is being able to look up at the sky at night and seeing so many stars, because there are no street lights.
Options for food in the area include fast food restaurants such as McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Arby's. If you wish to dine at a sit-down restaurant there are a few options such as Tiffany's Pizza (pizza, subs, salads), Bob Evans (breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu), River's Edge (delicious pizza), Applebee's, Great Lakes (breakfast, lunch, and dinner - similar to Bob Evans), and La Fiesta (Mexican food).
