For the six years I've lived here, I've liked it. There are only 2 problems I have with it: 1) there aren't too many sidewalks, so you can't feel as comfortable when walking/running. This isn't a major problem, as the majority of the streets are residential, and the sidewalk situation is improving slowly, but surely. My second problem with Hyde Park is, in the undeveloped areas, people don't respect the land. For example Hyde Park Canyon is littered with empty empty shell casings and other trash from recreators' failure to abide by Leave No Trace Policies.
I liked the small town feel of Hyde Park and would like to see it stay small. It was a very safe place to grow up. As a little kid there was always a lot to do. If you are looking for a place to go and party and have an extravagant nightlife, this is not the place for you.
