This town is very small and does not have a lot to do. There are necessities such as a grocery story and stuff like that but there is not a lot of fun activities for young people to do. It is about a 45 minute drive to a bigger city with my options. This town is also very republican and conservative. The majority of the population is white and there is very little diversity. There are however, some very nice neighborhoods and a lot of pretty views. We are very close to the Bay so we are not far from water which is nice during the summer time. The closest 4 year college is St. Mary's College of Maryland which is a very nice, small, liberal arts college. From Huntingtown it is very easy to get to Washington DC through the metro or driving. This gives you a place to take visitors or find work, there are many people who commute from this area to DC for work. Huntingtown is also close to Chesapeake Beach which is a mini beach town with fun shops, restaurants and some activities for summer
Huntingtown is a sweet, suburban area in Southern Maryland. There is not a whole lot to do, but us residents make do with what we have. There are various dining options in neighboring towns. Along with here and there mom and pop shop's located throughout. We have a bowling alley, one of our finer attractions. Huntingtown is central to the county, and places like the North Beach boardwalk and Solomon's Island are not too far away. Growing up there, it is always a treat to run into someone you know everywhere you go. It is a safe community, somewhere people want to raise their kids. It feels like home.
Huntingtown is an overall great place to live! Being in Calvert County, you are right in the middle of many beautiful natural beauties. With many outdoor parks to explore, Huntigtown is perfect if you like to explore. On the bad end, there are little to no commercial things to with little shopping and dining.
