Humble has a massive amount of diversity of local social spots. There are plenty of sites for enjoying the day and at night restaurants are full of life. Five minutes in any direction can lead the average citizen down a new interest as there are shopping strips around every corner. With shopping stirps tag along small businesses providing amazing food. A lot of people who want a homemade meal but do not have the means to cook at home will find themselves here. These places provide nearby high school students a place of comfort for socializing and enjoying meals with their peers. Other places civilians can be found are the parks. There is a small park by the shopping strips but a more popular one is named named Alexander Deussen Park that provides two dog parks, about 10 picnic pavilions, playgrounds, a lake, frisbee golf, and plenty of concrete trail throughout the land. Every afternoon families can be seen enjoying their time here. Humble is a perfect boiling pot of diverse community.
For over 17 years, Humble, Tx has been my home town. The academic experience in Humble from elementary school to high school has been significant to me. The district has shown immense hospitality and help for me and my siblings. The teachers and faculty here are wonderful and relational. I personally have found great relationships with the teachers and fellow students here. The town itself is situated just outside of Houston, in a lovely, suburban setting- suitable for growing up. I love Humble, and it has proved to be a safe haven and positive community for me and my family.
I grew up in Humble and I have lived here all my life. As a child, my family and I stayed close to home and became comfortable with the options we had available to us. We hardly ever have to travel far for our basic needs and with little effort, we have found so many opportunities to help in our community, make long-lasting relationships, and make our Humble house a home. Growing up, it was a pleasure to have my elementary and middle schools in walking and biking distance, and even now I enjoy how close my favorite grocery stores and volunteer spots are. However, recently there has been a drastic increase in the amount of land degradation and unnecessary building within the area. Each week, I observe more plots of land demolished to the dirt and replaced by a gas station or fast food place or apartment building only a few miles away from one that already existed. More and more, Humble is beginning to feel just as congested and overbearing as downtown Houston.
