Horseshoe Bend is a good town for retired people and that's IF you live on the outskirts. There is never much happening here. The school is so behind and not suitable for children that are looking for a real education. I live here and for school I attended Capital High School in Boise. My family chose to live here and personally I would never raise my kids here. There's lack of diversity and when the kids go out into the world, they will be shocked at how real life works. The school here doesn't challenge you at all.

I love Horseshoe Bend. It is a very small town of only 700 people but everyone is very friendly and helpful. My children go to school there. The elementary, middle, and high school are 3 separate buildings in the same area. It's amazing to me that the huge age range of all the kids attending the school get along so well. Many times, my children, who are in elementary school talk about high school students who are mentors to them. If I could change anything, I would like to have a little more choices for places to eat or shop. We have only 1 fast food place which is Subway located in a gas station. We do have 3 excellent restaurants, but not 1 devoted to pizza. I love my town and all the citizens that are a part of it.
Horseshoe Bend is a quaint little town of 600-700 people roughly 20 miles north of the Boise Metropolitan area. In general its a quiet place to live within easy travel distance of Boise for access to entertainment, food and general shopping.
