Hopewell is experiencing a face-lift. I went to grade school and high school here in the 80s and remember a lot of good times here as a child. Whenever I visit VA, a stop in Hopewell is a must. So happy to see new restaurants, and a renewed interest in renovation. The River Walk in City Point is awesome! The City Point Park is right on the Appomattox and a great place to bring the family. The Boathouse restaurant is great place to eat.
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for my town. Things are definitely moving forward.

My city is alright. I would say there's good and bad sides to it. A good side is that there isn't a lot of people living here. It's not like a Los Angeles or Manhattan, it's like a town with less that one hundred thousand in it. The bad side about it may have to be the lack of stores. It maybe be a decent size town, but there's only one grocery store. That's very inconvenient especially if you don't have a car. Most people including myself must go to the town over for grocery shopping and other errands.
I don't mind living here, it's ok, but it also could be much better than it is.

Parents moved here 40 years ago...I attended their high school for 4 months and left to go back to Maryland.... returned back to hopewell some years later to find it had only worsened(drugs, shooting, etc)... again moved away to return some years later and not to my surprise again things were even worse than before. Unsafe..drugs..shooting an d more .......I do not recommend for people with families, especially school aged children
