Hoover has been a wonderful place to live, as I have lived here for over 2 years now! I came to Hoover after living on 280, where my apartment was involved in a fire, and so I was in search of a new apartment. My spouse and I was very pleased to find Ridge Crossings Apartments, and it was even better that they were in our price range. We have enjoyed being closer to our college campus, Sam's, and many more place we enjoy eating at. And the traffic is much better than 280!

I've lived in Hoover for 35 years. I grew up in Hoover and I've seen it grow from 20,000 residents to approx 90,000. Hoover has a great quality of life and is super-convenient to practically every type of business. Hoover is much more diverse than it was in the 80's-90's and the schools remain excellent. My daughter stated that the AP classes at Hoover High School made her much more prepared for college than several of her friends that went to private school. (She's achieved outstanding grades in her college pre-med curriculum). The only downside to Hoover High is the large school size makes it ultra-competitive to make any sports teams, student council, etc.
Safety has never been much of a concern in Hoover except in some of the apartment complexes, especially on Lorna Road. You have to remember that Hoover has 4x more residents than Vestavia and 8x more residents than Mountain Brook when comparing the number of crime incidents.
Hoover is a wonderful city with access to a wide variety of interests! I in particular am most interested in the diverse restaurant options that Hoover has to offer. Whether it be Asian, BBQ, Southern, Middle Eastern, etc., you can find what you're looking for!
