Homestead was a very lively place before hurricane Andrew, nothing was the same after that. My family and I migrated to homestead in my pre-teen years from the city of Miami. That never sat well with me. But eventually after a couple of years, old ghost town Homestead is once again becoming what it once was before. Can I call it home after ten plus years of living here? I wouldn't take it to that extremes but it's got a place in my heart. Homestead now has a different vibe to it, new faces, new buildings and entertainment centers, it's on the borderline of becoming another Kendall. Over-populated and traffic in ever thinkable street. But overall it's a place where you can learn from life and realize that you must work hard to get somewhere in life.

Homestead is a beautiful area to live in. It is surrounded by farms which makes the area very green. It is also near may fun tourist sites. For example if you wanted to head to the Florida keys one weekend it would only take you a 40 minute to a Hour and a half drive depending on which key you go to. It also has Robert is here, which is a adorable fruit stand with a lil petting zoo. It is a relatively quite area and there is always events going on. The Rodeo is held in Homestead every year too along with its parade. Plus the race track is right in the area. Homestead is just great quite area with lots going, Plus big improvements are coming to make the down town area even better! Plus there is many great restaurants to eat, like Mario's Cuban cafe and Mama Mia's Italian restaurants.
It was once a small town, my parents tell me. It's hard to look at it that way these days, because it feels like a big city! There's plenty of housing, numerous supermarkets, including 3 chains of Publix, plenty of fast food and local restaurants (I recommend eating at Portofino, Sonny's and Broadway Subs if you're here.), and it's a safe town. The best part about Homestead may be its location. It connects to Florida City, and literally is the gateway to the Florida Keys. If you head an hour north, there's Miami. The weather is hot, but bearable. Overall, it's a nice place to stay and do whatever you feel like doing. It is in Florida, after all!
