Holiday is 15 minutes away from several beaches and local parks. Easy access to fishing, boating, trails and parks. Lower taxes and affordable property values.
Many of the neighborhoods have the OLD Florida feel where you can keep your boat in your back yard without nit picky rules and regs. Living on the Nature coast is something you get accustomed to and after living here you wont want to move.

We moved to Holiday, Florida a couple years ago and it is a fairly nice area. In the past year though, crime rates have gone up. We have had people pounding on our door at 2 in the morning and people who don't care about the community. Some houses and yards are run down while others pride in their home and community. Overall it's ok. Daycares and schools are not the best either.
Holiday is a small community of long-time residents who generally work together for the good of the neighborhood. There is a lot to do. Small beaches, dog parks (almost everyone has at least one), restaurants. We have several grocery stores to choose from. Close to Tarpon Springs and the Sponge Docks. Very family friendly. Housing is reasonable. One thing I would change is that Holiday should have its own local government. We have quite a self-contained neighborhood. We are on all the bus lines. Most things you would do on a regular basis are within walking distance. Despite the busy activity it is quite surprisingly quiet and layed back. Not only is it a good place to live, because of its somewhat central location, it makes a good vacation spot. In addition, there are quite a few nice hotels in the area.
