Hohenwald is a small town located in southwestern middle Tennessee. The population in the town itself is only around 3,500, with a population in the county of around 10,000 total residents. Most workers are commuters, and the largest employers in the town are the school system and Walmart. The schools are average; no AP course offerings for college-bound students. The town is great for a family though.

Hohenwald is a lovely small town. If you want a close-knit community where everyone knows everyone, then Hohenwald is perfect. However, I am unhappy with our local government and wish they did more for the citizens of our small community.
The town is in many ways trapped in the past. Very republican, and not shy about it. Many people are racist, and not shy about it. You cannot drive to the bank without seeing about five confederate flags. There are more churches than you could easily count, and Walmart is deserted on Sunday mornings. The school system is weak and does not adequately prepare students for college. In fact, being intelligent is often looked down upon here. The community park is a hub for drugs and underage smoking during the day, and at night you have to watch your step for couples taking advantage of dark corners. Gas typically runs ten to fifteen cents more per gallon than the surrounding counties. Everybody knows everybody else or their momma, and if you didn't grow up here you're the new kid.
