Very small, hometown community. It seems as though everyone knows everyone else. There is a high crime rate when compared to the small population. Not may shopping options. School pride is awesome! Everyone supports the local high school teams.

It is a nice community to raise a family as long as you stay on the right track. The schools education system is below average. As long as you are helping your children learn at home as well, they will do fine. The sports here are wonderful. It is a big basketball town. Hobbs is known for its multiple state championships in basketball. There is not a lot for kids to do here but overall it an alright place to live. They have a casino for adults and they just built a multi million dollar center for families. It includes multiple swimming pools, basketball courts, indoor soccer field and a three story tall indoor play place. My kids seem to like it.
Hobbs is a small town where everyone knows each other. It is beginning to grow a lot with businesses and new construction. In the past couple of months we've had a series of deaths, it has become a little dangerous these couple of months. I enjoy the many parks we have, especially the new remodeled city park. The Core is a nice feature for Hobbs. Also the football games here get exciting, even though we never win. Overall I like Hobbs but it could be better.
