Over the past few years, it's clear that petty crime has slightly risen and I've actually been affected by it myself. The police are impressive when it comes to response time, but I've seen them have actual vendettas against certain people. I actually had a friend pass away in a car accident (caused by himself) that killed a cyclist as well. He was definitely in the wrong and drove negligently, but it was very clear that the police chief had a vendetta against him since he constantly attacked his character regardless the fact that he had passed away and was no longer here to defend himself. He also didn't seem to care that my friend had grieving family members and it was much harder to grieve and move on from what had happened because of the police chiefs actions.

I live in a very busy area of town, but the low speed limit keeps the environment a lot safer than bigger Vermont cities. Although the town population has grown significantly, nearly everyone knows everyone here. Everyone looks out for each other. The construction of more and more businesses as well as homes continuously grows the town and opens up even more opportunities for everyone living here
