I love living on this little island. It's a super popular summer travel destination and I totally get why. We have a relatively close knit community, and so many great shops and restaurants!

We moved from the Boston area five years ago. For those who say housing is too expensive and the traffic is so bad, they obviously haven’t lived in a big city lately. We have a beautiful though modest house on a very peaceful street on a golf course just blocks from the ocean. Transplanted to the Boston suburbs it would likely be out of our price range. And The traffic doesn’t compare. Sure it’s busy here two months a year but the other months are a breeze. I live on HHI but work in Beaufort so I am out in the traffic most weekdays. We feel so blessed to live here. And We find people here so much nicer and welcoming. Can’t imagine being back in the northeast rat race.
Hilton Head Island is a beautiful Island filled with people who enjoy a casual, resort lifestyle. Enjoy almost year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches, and even ride your bicycle along the sandy shore. Beaches and many of the area's local attractions are dog-friendly so leash up Fido and head for the outdoors! There are also dozens of restaurants to try with new offerings frequently popping up.
