I have lived in Hillsborough almost my whole life and I have to say: I love it here. The local restaurants are all amazing, the people are so nice, and you're almost smack dab in the middle of the Triangle, so you have 3 major cities surrounding you for your enjoyment! There are also a ton of good colleges near Hillsborough, so you'll get a good education within-state tuition if you live here. The only problem I have is that it's either a good place to grow up in or a good place to settle down, but you wouldn't want to stay there forever. That's the only real con, but taht coudl just be me having grown up here.

My family moved to Hillsborough 1992 when there were nothing but farms and historic sites. We love the country setting we we live. Coming from long island ny it was a shell shock. there was nothing here like ny .but then it took time to get used to it the high school had no air conditioning, that year they were just installing it. Not many stores, but it was quite and peaceful the neighborhood was so family. Walker farms was closed to us smoking their tobacco products it smelt so good. We love the town and people are so family. I started selling my villanos infamous marinade in a little farmer's market near the bank in town and from there it took off.we been here for 27years when they said we live in the boondock. Now it the country. Thank you for reading this my family the Villano

Jobs moving into the area. Schools are great! Downtown Hilsborough has a great historic district. The area is is very trendy and hipster. There are walking trails, coffee shops, whole foods store, restaurants, beautiful won river and more! Nice mix of old and new. The price of housing continues to rise in the area. I would recommend this area to families.
