Small town. Very safe. Does have grocery store, gas stations, fast food, good schools, booming housing developments. Many different churches. Just a good town! Only 30 minutes from St. Louis
Hillsboro is a growing city, but still holds true to it's small town roots. Even though it is growing, the town does not have as many issues as some of the surrounding communities. Best of all we are only minutes away from South St. Louis County. Unfortunately, the town does lack entertainment for the youth of the community. Hillsboro does have several non-fast food and fast food dining establishments. These provide excellent employment opportunities for the local youth.
My favorite thing about Hillsboro is the few fairs that happen every year at the Jefferson County Fair grounds located in the middle of our town. It’s a very small town with nothing to really do. It’s a drive though town. There are 4 fast food restaurants Hardee’s, McDonalds, Tacobell, and Dairy Queen. Only places to grab a quick bite to eat. The circle K gas station is always packed around 2:30-3:00 with teenagers.
