We moved to Hilliard when our children were in middle school and high school. We decided to move because there are so many more opportunities within the community and within the school district. The town has a quaint "Old Hilliard" section with many outdoor community events throughout the year. There are 2 community pools that are up to date and have slides/rides/lazy river. There are multiple bike and walking trails for nature enthusiasts. There is also a fairgrounds for events every summer including a food truck event!
Neighborhoods are safe and police presence if apparent. Multiple fire stations throughout the community as well. There are many stores to choose from. Restaurants are never overly crowded and infrastructure makes it easy to access pretty much anything!

I love hilliard, personally. Lived here since I was 4. Very walkable, nice people, nice neighborhoods. I notice people in here are counting the area by I-70 as hilliard when it’s not. It’s columbus which is why it’s not as nice as actual hilliard. The actual area of hilliard is great. Safe here too, a good amount of sidewalks and or bike paths. Also, a very strong and effective police force with a very nice fleet of vehicles. Not trashy or dirty, some areas where there’s trash but again, that’s by I-70 so not hilliard. Downtown is lively during the spring and summer, booming with families and adults walking, phenomenal 9/11 memorial, plenty of on tap breweries for adults, but also places for kids. A good selection of locally owned small coffee shops too! Overall I love it. Homes aren’t as expensive as dublin or UA, so it’s affordable. Would not wanna live anywhere else unless I had to. Good job hilliard.
I moved here in May of 2022 and I have loved it. It's quiet enough to feel comfortable after coming from a very small town, while also having plenty to do. My partner and I plan to remain in Hilliard for the foreseeable future - we're even moving from one part of Hilliard to another to be able to stay in the city while being closer to OSU for me to start classes. Awesome city, fun downtown area, would definitely recommend as a starter living area for college graduates!
