I feel pretty safe but I will always be concerned about my safety in any neighborhood. The prevalence of crime is not nearly as noticeable as it had been in the inner city, where the crime rate were high. What does concern me is people who are listed as sex offenders in the neighborhood or nearby. Another concern, which is major to me, is the lighting and the absence of sidewalks. Many children walk the neighborhood throughout the day but there are no side walk in every neighborhood nor street lighting which is dangerous and very concerning to me.
The lack of sidewalks in some areas is always going to be a safety issue but it's rare that people walk from locations to location, people drive more than they walk due to the congestion of the busy roads. There are biker lanes for bicyclists in some areas but not many since not many people ride bicycles in this community. As far as public transportation, there's not much since it is a suburban area, but can be provided by the Metro services or cabs.
Certain areas in this community has their ups and downs but it's certainly not the worst. The housing quality can vary from each neighborhood as well as pricing. A fair amount of the homes are costly due to the size and surrounding area, as far as the maintenance of the property and upcoming work businesses. Compared to the inner city, there aren't any homes that are vacant or abandoned properties.
