Highlands Ranch Reviews

Overall, my experience in Highlands Ranch has been fantastic. I cherish the memories I made at Ranch View and ThunderRidge and appreciate the sense of community and safety that Highlands Ranch offers. It's a place I can wholeheartedly recommend to others looking for a great place to live and raise a family.
However, one aspect that could be improved is the traffic congestion during peak hours, especially on major roads. As the area continues to grow, better infrastructure planning and public transportation options would be beneficial to alleviate traffic concerns.

I recently moved to Highlands Ranch from a North Denver suburb. Overall, it's a nice place to live, but the people are not the nicest. It's very clique-ey and there's a general sense of entitlement of many of the people here. It is very clean and there's little local crime. There are lots of stores and generic restaurants nearby. Highlands Ranch is not particularly diverse (in many ways), and there are very few local non-chain restaurants. It's a somewhat short drive to Denver, so you can go on the weekends for more diversity and better food, but you can leave the crime and homeless issues when you go home. Overall, I've enjoyed living here.
I was born and raised here. My parents moved here from Venezuela in 2003 and have raised a total of five kids here. It's an incredibly safe town, so I've been able to grow up with a lot of independence. I started walking to and from school in around 3rd grade, and I can also walk home from my high school, which is about a mile away, with no issues. I learned to navigate myself through public transportation, and my parents became comfortable leaving me alone at an early age. I definitely think this is a great place to raise kids and teach them independence. It's quite expensive to buy a house here, but I definitely think it's worth it. However, I would love to see more diversity in schools, restaurants, etc.
