I recently moved out here about 3 months ago. I lived in a town about 20-25 minutes south of Highland and everything was far. I just came back from completing my associates degree in Illinois at Joliet Junior College. So moving to Highland was great because my current college is 10 minutes away and the expressway is right around the corner!

I'd like to see that the town becomes more open to expanding its local commerce and downtown area. It has a small downtown now with a bookstore, coffee shop, thrift store, and pizza place but they're are many places in the area that can be more wisely used.
It's a nice town. It's a very clean and safe place to live. I just wish there were more exciting things to do and places to go. Overall though, I have enjoyed spending the majority of my life living in this little suburb.
