I have lived in Hibbing for my entire life. I would say that my school experience has been really great—awesome class sizes, good curriculum, and great location—but there are some downsides. There isn't much to do for young folks, but as young folks always do, we adapt. The movie theater here is lovely. There is a good sense of community around here. Potlucks, fundraisers, and craft sales are very popular. Our local Caribou gets a lot of business. I would say that it is hard to find a good, stable job here as an adult. If you are looking to relocate a family, Hibbing isn't a bad choice. However, if you are looking to start a family—go elsewhere. This is not a good place for single, young adults.
Hibbing is a very nice and calm environment to live and go to school. there’s not of activities around here, but if you live the lakes, hiking, running! fishing and hunting! then this is the best place to look. Best thing about this place, it’s not expensive to live here.
They have the largest open mine pit in the US! You really need to take a trip up there on a Wednesday and watch the mine blasts at 12 pm, on the first Wednesdays of each month.
