Being a suburb of Waco, Hewitt is the perfect place for families. Hewitt falls under Midway ISD, which is the best school district in the area. The school itself is well known for its award-winning extracurricular programs and is the most academically competitive in the area (not to mention the best football team). Hewitt is comprised of several safe neighborhoods that aren't too far from anything major. The nightlife is practically nonexistent, but that's what Waco is for!
Hewitt is an great place to live! Just outside of the growing city of Waco, there are plenty of opportunities. Right in the heart of Texas, almost every big city is just a 2 hour drive. Even just here in town, everything you need is a 20 minute drive, max. The schools (K-12 & University) around this area are amazing. And the houses are all affordable, new and old. There is plenty to do around here, for all ages. While this city is growing fast, it still has a small town feel, making you always feel at home.
It's a small town that is well mantained and managed. City personnel and organization, including police and elected city officials. All my life I have felt safe. I have left my car door open and nothing has happened. My neighbor are all homeowners of 20+ years. Everyone knows each other and their child by name. In an emergency or just getting locked out of the house, my neighbors have opened their homes and hearts to my family. It is so safe that children walk down the street to visit friends unharmed.
