I would like people to be a little more friendly and respectful. Also be willing to explain and understand that there are different views.
Let’s treat everyone the same, doesn’t matter your sex, weight, kids, no kids married, other heritage or religion.
This place is also very old school and not a lot of changes happen. So willingness to be ok and open to new ideas which could help immensely should be welcomed and listened. Plus people should be ok to ask questions and not feel bad for doing so. Some family restaurants would be a wonderful addition to the area. Especially a Red Robin because there are lots of big family’s and few little restaurants.

I have lived in Hermiston for almost 12 years. I like the fact that this town is not super small but its not super big. There are some things that we could like more public facilities like stores because I feel like there are places around the town that a barren and could have some things that the public could go to. I really enjoy some of the events that the city organizes like plays, 3 on 3 basketball, and even the community dinners from organizations for families to come and enjoy. Our town also does a lot of fundraisers where all the money collected goes to schools for educational purposes, enhancements in the city, and to our local hospital. Every city has some sort of crime rate, but Hermiston's not bad at all. I feel safe and I believe that our police department is doing a fine job. I just wish there was more diversity in this town. The majority of the people are white or from a Hispanic background.
I lived a lot of different places growing up, but when my family and I moved to Hermiston it immediately felt comfortable. It's a small enough town that the traffic isn't bad and it's not overwhelming. It doesn't have a lot of extras, but it has all the essentials, unlike other tiny towns. There's a Walmart and a movie theater and a bowling alley. Our high school football team is in the 5A division and we've won state twice. It's an ethnically diverse town, about 50% Hispanic. The schools are great and we've added new schools over the past several years to accommodate all the new students that have moved into this area. Hermiston is a fast growing town and I think it's going great places. Plus, we have the best watermelon.
