It's a nice, small town. It's growing rapidly and has decent amenities, restaurants from different cultures, etc. There is an unusually large number of homeless people, though, and drug abuse seems to be a big problem here. Seems to be plenty of opportunity for anyone who likes the country vibe, though.
Hermiston can be a very stable place to life in but from my experience there are far safer places to live in. You have to be cautious about who you associate with when you come here. That's what will determine how your experience living here will be like. In other words, this place is mid on a good day. It very easy to fall in with the wrong crowd.
I am a current resident in Hermiston, Oregon since 2015. Since my transition from a larger city to a smaller town, I don’t have much to complain other than the need for more retail stores and activities. I don’t mind the small town, people are more personal. Just wish there were more alternatives or options for shopping or restaurants.
