Growing up in Hazel Park was very basic to say the least. There isn't to much going on in the city, there are a couple stores, and if you want to find entertainment other than going to people houses and the occasional high school sports game you would have to go outside of the city to find some. Thankfully you don't have to go to far to find a grocery store since there is one within the city. As for the people that live in the city, almost everyone knows everyone in the city and people are normally pretty friendly with one each other. The safety of in the city is pretty good its not full of crime and everyone normally looks out for one each others places. But all in all it isn't a bad place to live!

Hazel Park is a small suburb outside of Detroit. With a mixture of different cultures of working class families. Diverse would be the best word to describe Hazel Park. I absolutely love living in this area, I love the people and that everything is in close proximity of each other. A very nice place to start a family and purchase your first starter home.
After moving away from East Lansing, while I was at Michigan State University (because I could not longer afford tuition) I had to embark on a journey to find my home. Hazel Park is probably best known for their pompous hill-billy Kentuckians and low end living but it's honestly a community within itself. This is the first city I've seen that surrounds other cities that are do not actively engaged in recycling, believe me, driving down any street during trash day you will see everyone in Hazel Park participating. Overall, you will meet the kindest poorest people here. and people who like myself, who come from elite colleges. The people who typecast Hazel Park people, are people you probably shouldn't hang around with, they sound kind of 'judgey' anyways, and you don't need friends who do that.
