I lived here for years. It's really a diverse neighborhood. It has plenty of surrounding stores, which I love. It's close to major freeways. The school system is nice!

Not to flashy, but a safe and convenient place to live. Affordable housing is situated between a variety of shops, restaurants and parks; and just minutes away from downtown Royal Oak and Ferndale. Short commute times make living hear fantastic.
Growing up in Hazel Park was very basic to say the least. There isn't to much going on in the city, there are a couple stores, and if you want to find entertainment other than going to people houses and the occasional high school sports game you would have to go outside of the city to find some. Thankfully you don't have to go to far to find a grocery store since there is one within the city. As for the people that live in the city, almost everyone knows everyone in the city and people are normally pretty friendly with one each other. The safety of in the city is pretty good its not full of crime and everyone normally looks out for one each others places. But all in all it isn't a bad place to live!
